Publisher disclosure: Immiva publishes this review and sells competing preparation software. Public prices and terms were checked on October 16, 2026. Our preparation pricing and guided preparation process are included for comparison. We did not buy a CitizenPath package, test a completed packet, or measure support response times.

Is CitizenPath legit, and what does it provide?
Yes, based on the available evidence. CitizenPath identifies its operating business, describes its service boundaries, reports operating since 2014, and has a substantial public customer-review history. That record supports viewing it as an established preparation service. It does not establish government endorsement or predict your chance of approval. [P1, R1]
CitizenPath advertises a service that turns your questionnaire answers into completed forms. It also provides personalized filing instructions, a supporting-document checklist, and customer support. You still need to supply accurate information and evidence, review the result, and follow the applicable signing and filing steps. [P1] USCIS independently requires proper signatures and the evidence specified in form instructions. See its mail-filing guidance.
Attorney-reviewed guidance is different from a lawyer reviewing your case. CitizenPath's terms say it is not a law firm and does not assess your answers for legal sufficiency. [P1] For the distinction between preparation and personal legal advice, read our guide to hiring a lawyer for I-130. USCIS explains who can provide authorized representation in its legal-services guidance.
Before paying, work out what you need help with. You may want clearer explanations of questions, a check for inconsistent answers, help organizing evidence, or advice about a legal uncertainty. Ask the provider which of those tasks your package includes. Even a familiar company may offer a different service from the one you expected.
What customer reviews can tell you
The reviews sampled for this article praise questions that are easy to understand, useful instructions, and responsive support. One June 2026 Trustpilot reviewer praised the I-751 experience and described how support resolved a question about the filing instructions. That account tells you about one customer's experience. [R1]
Read reviews for the work you need help with. Did the customer discuss the questionnaire, evidence gathering, support, or an actual USCIS decision? Someone reviewing the forms they just downloaded can tell you different things from someone whose application was approved. Neither review establishes a success rate for the platform.
You still have to gather the documents on a checklist. For example, our I-751 document checklist explains the evidence applicants may need to gather. Ask whether a package helps organize that material or includes someone reviewing it. Do not assume those services are interchangeable.
Give more weight to a detailed review from someone with the same filing and support needs than to a star rating alone. Read the company's response to any complaint. A dispute about refund timing may show that the customer expected something different; it does not, by itself, prove fraud or a problem affecting every customer.
Before buying, ask: what does the provider check before payment, and what remains your responsibility?
Compare prices for the same application
These are published preparation fees in U.S. dollars, excluding government fees. CitizenPath's prices were checked October 16, 2026, against the individual package pages; our column shows our current preparation prices. [P2, P3]
| Filing goal | CitizenPath | Our listed price |
|---|---|---|
| Citizenship, N-400 | $199 | $199 |
| Family petition, I-130 | $149 | $149 |
| Remove conditions, I-751 | $139 | $149 |
| I-485 with I-130/I-130A as needed | $279 | $299 concurrent package |
| Work permit, I-765 | $79 | $99 for H-4 or $99 for J-2 EAD |
CitizenPath is lower on several listed packages. Its I-485 package includes I-130 and I-130A when needed, so adding its standalone form prices would misrepresent that purchase. Some additional forms cost extra; the base price does not include every possible form. [P2] Use our I-130 versus I-485 explainer to distinguish the petition from the adjustment application.
Our standalone I-485 listing is $249, but that covers a different set of forms from the concurrent package. [P3] Compare included forms, evidence assistance, support, and government fees before calling either offer cheaper overall.
For example, a buyer needing I-130 with I-485 should compare $279 against $299, not add CitizenPath's $149 petition price to its $279 adjustment price. [P2, P3] The price difference does not tell you whether the package includes an additional work-permit form, evidence review, or legal advice.
H-4 and J-2 applicants also have a choice. CitizenPath's published category guidance lists both categories as eligible to apply for work authorization. Confirm that its preparation package supports your circumstances before paying. [P2] Immiva's H-4 EAD workflow describes category-specific checks and document guidance. This documents a difference in the preparation process. It does not establish better results. [P3]
Read the guarantee before relying on it
CitizenPath's written guarantee covers more types of costs. If its own preparation error causes denial, it provides a service-fee refund and government-fee reimbursement subject to its conditions and a $2,500 cap. The account holder has 30 days from the denial notice to request coverage. Incorrect or incomplete user information and failure to follow instructions are excluded. [P4]
Our policy covers rejection caused by our preparation error and refunds the affected application's preparation fee. It excludes government and third-party fees; the request deadline is 60 days after rejection. [P5] The guided preparation process explains the checks that precede filing.
CitizenPath separately permits a change-of-mind refund within 30 days of purchase before downloading. That window does not give you unlimited refund protection after you receive the packet. [P4]
Both contracts specify when they provide coverage. Neither promises reimbursement for eligibility problems, missing evidence, or every adverse USCIS decision. Before relying on a guarantee, check which event triggers coverage and which costs it covers. Ask what documentation you would need for a claim. Our application-rejection guide explains why a filing can fail before substantive review.
Check the packet before filing
Using a familiar brand still leaves you responsible for the final filing checks. USCIS instructs mail filers to use current forms, keep edition dates consistent across pages, sign properly, and include required evidence. Follow its filing checklist, whichever preparation route you choose.
For example, the current I-485 page requires edition 09/18/26 for submissions on or after September 18, 2026, with no grace period. Its October 7 alert and the I-130 alert also announce filing-location changes. Check the live official page immediately before mailing.
Budget for the preparation charge and government payment separately. Use the USCIS fee calculator for your category and our USCIS fee-payment guide for payment context. Before entering sensitive details, read the provider's current privacy policy and ask how to request deletion. This review did not audit either company's security controls.
Frequently Asked Questions
The evidence reviewed indicates that CitizenPath is a legitimate private preparation business. It is not USCIS, and buying a package does not mean the government has approved your application. [P1] USCIS makes forms and online accounts free. You pay a provider for preparation help, not access to otherwise unavailable forms.
CitizenPath's standard preparation terms say it does not review your individual answers for legal sufficiency. [P1] If you need advice about how a legal rule applies to your history, seek an authorized professional. The I-485 lawyer guide can help you decide what to ask; USCIS explains authorized assistance.
No. Published preparation prices are separate from government fees. [P2] The same distinction applies to our preparation pricing. [P3] Check what the complete package includes, then calculate the government charges for your filing category.
Yes. Compare the H-4 EAD preparation workflow with CitizenPath's published I-765 category guidance. Its guide includes the H-4 spouse eligibility category; confirm package support for your circumstances. [P2, P3] Ask each service about its category checks and guidance on supporting documents.
No. The guarantees reviewed cover specified errors caused by the provider. Both have exclusions and deadlines for making a claim. CitizenPath's includes conditional government-fee reimbursement; ours covers the preparation fee only. [P4, P5] Read the current agreement before paying and keep your purchase and filing records.
Choose the help you need
Is CitizenPath legit? Yes, the evidence supports that conclusion. Its published prices and conditional guarantee deserve fair consideration. Compare what each packet includes and the limits of each service, then see how preparation works before choosing. Preparation tools can still help when your history is complicated.
